This year instead of parent teacher conferences, the school held parent-student conferences. The teachers put together notebooks with metrics and samples of each student's work and we sat down with our child and went through it - there were about 5 or so parent-child pairs at each time slot. The teacher floated through the room answering questions and redirecting the students. It was a good opportunity to see what they've been working on and what they need more work on. The kids really liked being involved and were proud to show off how well they were doing.
