Disney Day 2 - Animal Kingdom

After breakfast at Cinderella's Castle, we drove over to Animal Kingdom.  It is a huge park and takes a ton of time just to walk around!  By the time we parked, walked in and made it inside the park, our fast passes for the Safari ride were ready.  The ride was great!  They have changed it - took out the cheesy parts and made the animal watching parts longer.  We saw tons of animals and we even saw the lions - I can't remember seeing them before.  The kids had a great time - even Declan liked watching the animals!

After the Safari, it was time to eat - again!!!  We had a reservation at Yak and Yeti's - it's a great restaurant that serves all sorts of Asian food - yummy!!  Declan was a wreck at lunch because he hadn't had a chance to sleep in the stroller during the morning.  I ate my delicious meal and took him outside to walk around in the stroller while everyone finished eating.  He fell right to sleep and after lunch Brendan took Aidan and Emmy on the Everest roller coaster.  Aoife could have gone on it but for some reason she was scared - maybe it's because it looks terrifying!!!'

It was pretty hot that day and so we got some popsicles on the way out of the park.  We headed back to the hotel for a rest for Aoife and Declan while Emmy, Aidan and Brendan rode some roller coasters at Magic Kingdom.

After Declan woke up and Aoife was revived by cookies in bed while watching cartoons,  we went back to the resort attached to the Animal Kingdom for dinner at BOMA - an African themed restaurant.  We got there a few minutes early so we wandered around the hotel.  It was beautiful and there were giraffes and other animals right outside the hotel rooms!  Imagine waking up in the morning to a giraffe looking in your window!  HA!!!

The restaurant was great.  It was a buffet FULL of food that I had never eaten before.  I was in heaven - there isn't much that I like better than trying new foods.  Everything was delicious and we all really enjoyed ourselves.  Of all the new restaurants we tried, I think BOMA was my favorite!!

  1. The Safari ride looks awesome! But I would have passed on the roller coaster rides. :-)
