Last Day of Vacation

We have had so much fun at Cape Charles this past week! Between the awesome house, being so close to the beach, the beautiful weather and the adorable town - it was fantastic!! We had our last dinner at The Oyster Farm and were even able to get a family photo afterwards! The sunset was beautiful and it was a great final evening. I hope we can go back soon!!

Busch Gardens Williamsburg

We had a great visit to Busch Gardens Williamsburg today! The kids and and Brendan had a lot of fun going on tons of roller coasters. The weather was beautiful and it was fun to get out and see and do something new!!

 

Day 3 - Cape Charles

Day 3 was a bit rainy but I managed to get out for a nice walk around the town in the morning. We had a nice dinner on the front porch and then had an evening swim at sunset. This is really the most beautiful and relaxing place!

 

Day 2 - Cape Charles, VA

A beautiful beach day today! Lots of swimming, sunning and beach bocci! We also spent some time walking around the historic town and enjoying the shopping and people watching! We finished up the day playing cornhole and then eating dinner at The Shanty with a great view of the water. The food was great - especially the fried and raw oysters!

 

Day 1 in Cape Charles, VA

Brendan and Aoife went to their tournament this morning and Emmy, Aidan, Declan and I headed down to Cape Charles, VA to get settled in the house and start our week of vacation! We lucked out with a beautiful afternoon and after we got the keys to the house - we headed right to the beach! The house is perfect - just literal steps from the beach and newly renovated. I think we actually may be the 3rd or 4th family to rent the house! It's perfect for us and the beach is just beautiful!!

 

Declan can tie his shoes!

Declan learned how to tie his shoes today! Aidan was such a help and it really only took them about 10 minutes of concentrated effort and now Declan is a master!

 

Emmy is an All American!

We are so proud of Emmy! She was selected for the Under Armour All American Team from the DC region! She will participate in the All American tournament in late July. She has worked so hard and we are so happy to see her recognized for her talent and hard work!

 

Hogan Hershey Lax Tournament

 This weekend was Aidan's last tournament of the summer. We ended up driving up and back each day because the games were in the afternoon but it was really nice to have some time to decompress in the car. He played really well and was able to keep the team in it for most of the games. The ended up going to the Championship game at the end of day two and his 16 saves were able to allow his team to tie it 3-3 in the last few minutes sending them to overtime. Unfortunately the other team scored in sudden death and Next Level ended up in 2nd place but they played really well - much better than I had seen them play all season. Tryouts for next year are in 2 weeks - no rest!

Stars 2025 -Trip to Vail

This week Emmy and I went to Vail with the Stars 2025 team to compete in the Vail Lacrosse Shootout. We had so much fun!! We stayed at the Arabella - a beautiful hotel in Vail! The team went white water rafting, horseback riding and even played some amazing lacrosse! Emmy had a fantastic tournament and played as well as I've ever seen her play.

What an amazing experience and I'm so happy that we got to do it together. After a year and a half at home because of COVID, this was just the biggest treat. It felt like a real vacation!!
