The Jamestown Volts are having a great season!! Declan is out there getting better and faster and they are all enjoying being coached by Coach Brendan!!

2023 VISAA State Wrestling Championship

 Aidan finished up his very successful wrestling career at Potomac this weekend with a great outing at the VISAA State meet in Richmond. It was a two day event and he had some great wins on the first day and advanced farther than last year. He was slated to wrestle on the second day but unfortunately injured his shoulder in the last match of the first day. He attempted to wrestle in the first match of the second day but the AC joint got the best of him and he did not advance. It was defiantly disappointing for him - there wee some boys who placed that he knew he could have beaten if he was healthy. That being said, it was really a great four years on the mat! I couldn't be any more proud of him - the grit it takes to even attempt this sport is incredible!!

Aidan's 18th Birthday!!

 Aidan turned 18 today!! We are so lucky to have an incredible, thoughtful, kind and funny son!!!  We got up early to open up a few presents before school today and then went to dinner at Sakura to celebrate - followed by chocolate cake for dessert!! Such a special night to celebrate the last birthday before college!!

 Happy Happy Happy Birthday Aidan!! We are so proud of you and have loved every minute of watching you grow up!!  The best is coming!!

Outdoor counter install!

 After months and months of waiting and delays we are finally in the home stretch of out deck/patio project!! Today the granite was installed for the grilling/smoking area of the deck!! Can't wait to cook some hamburgers - and the warm weather this winter is cooperating for outdoor dining!

Happy Valentine's Day!

 Last year I procrastinated buying Valentine’s candy and asked Brendan to go to the store the night before Valentine’s Day. Everything Valentine’s related was sold out so he came home with Easter bunnies! I was initially super annoyed but on reflection it was the sweetest thing to do - making sure the kids had chocolate for the next morning. Bunnies will forever be a Valentine’s tradition in our house! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine's Day Shootout

The girls played in the Valentine's Day Shootout today. It was pretty warm for February in Virignia! They both had amazing days and played so well. Aoife played with Falls Church High School in the morning and then for Arlington 8th graders in the afternoon.  They won the JV division against High school JV teams! They are amazing!!

Emmy played for Yorktown and they did really well also and made it to the semifinal - unfortunately they had to play against St Johns. I think it was a fun day and a good lead up to tryouts for Yorktown on the 20th!

 

Bread Making

 These adorable cuties spent their Friday night baking bread at our house! They are just the BEST!

1st Middle School Dance!

 Aoife had her first Middle School Dance on Friday night! The girls got ready together and had pizza and then we all took them over! They were so beautiful and grown up! They had a great time! After the dance was over I took some of them over to a local diner for a late night meal. I'm so proud of how much they are growing up!! High School is coming!
