Potomac Prom 2023

Senior Prom was this weekend! Aidan and Ella and their friends met at the Lincoln Memorial for photos before prom and then took a party bus over to Belle Haven Country Club for the Prom. A great cap to their Senior year! Another day of memories! 

Happy Birthday Brendan

Happy Birthday Brendan!!  A crazy weekend with lacrosse, Prom and Spring Fling - we didn't get to fully celebrate but I know someday we'll have a spring weekend without lacrosse and we'll be so sad!  We all love you so much!!! Happy Birthday!!!

Apple Tree Down

 We lost our apple tree last night in the storms! It didn't break - just uprooted right at the ground. So sad - it was a nice tree - the birds liked to be in there because it was right by the bird feeder. My grandfather planted it years ago - but it never really produced any apples that we could eat - mostly just for the deer and the squirrels!

Happy Birthday Aoife!

Today is Aoife's 14th Birthday!!!  It was such a busy day that we barely got to celebrate but we did manage to all get together for cake and presents!!! Happy Birthday sweet girl!!! We are so proud of you!

Game Day! - Senior Night

 Game day today! Underclassmen dressed up as Minions! Go Yorktown - Beat McLean! It was soooo rainy for Senior Night. Yorktown did win but it POURED - I'm sure night the Seniors won't forget!!

Tactical Tacos take the W

 It was one of those games that you just KNEW it was going to start pouring - and it did - hail as well!! Declan was tough in goal and made some great saves, allowing his team to win in overtime! Very very exciting - and a little damp!

Aidan's Ceramics Internship

 Aidan chose to do a huge ceramics project for his Senior project. One of the components is taking a class at District Clay in DC in the evenings. It's a pretty cool location and he loves the class! He is studying slip casting and also interning in the studio as well as working in the studio at Potomac 5 days a week teaching classes to faculty and working on his own projects. It's been really cool to watch him work!

Spring Evenings

Our back deck is FINALLY almost complete!! It's so nice to be able to be outside and enjoy our gorgeous backyard! 

YHS vs The Potomac School

 Yorktown got to play Potomac away today and face some really tough competition! Although they didn't win, they got to play on Aidan's home turf and got to play with some good friends from Capital! Next year we will be cheering the Panthers on with Aoife in goal for Potomac!!
