Hey Aoife! Wait Up!

Aoife got a scooter of her own for her birthday. She is already really good at riding it thanks to all the practice that she had on Emmy's!!

Aoife's Birthday Party

Aoife's birthday party was on Thursday morning. Maybe it was more like lunch with cake and presents than an actual party since all we did was sit around and chat while the kids played. We only had a few guests, my friends Steph and Katie and their daughters and my neighbor, Joan. Aidan stayed home from school that morning so he could be at the party. At first I was going to have him go to school at the regular time but once he realized he wasn't going to be at the party the waterworks started. I guess I kind of forgot that the worst insult in a 6 year old's world is to not be invited to someone's birthday party. I relented and he had a good time and a short day at school.

Aoife's 2nd Birthday

Aoife turned 2 today!!! I can't believe that I don't have any babies in the house anymore. Here are a few pictures from today. I am totally exhausted and will post more pictures when I get them all processed. Let's hope I can sleep tonight and we don't get anymore storms for a while!

Brendan order Aoife a scooter all of her own! She got to have it right when she woke up this morning. I don't think she could have been any happier!!Aoife eating lunch at her party:Aoife's cake - vanilla cake layered with strawberries and cream. It was a nod to the classic Victoria Sponge in honor of the royal wedding tomorrow.

Neighborhood Easter Activities

My neighbor, Joan, organized an Easter Egg Hunt as well as Egg & Spoon races and a Three Legged Race on Easter morning. There are lots of kids in the neighborhood and we had a lot of fun - even though it was raining! Poor Aoife didn't get to participate since she passed out with a sugar coma at 11:30 am! Aidan and Emmy had gotten some hand knotted Easter Baskets from Brendan's mother and so they used them for the egg hunt!Joan with Emmy and Aidan:Getting ready to hunt eggs:

Easter Morning

The kids were spoiled by the Easter Bunny - this is what happens when the Easter Bunny goes shopping more than once and forgets what she bought before - or even that she WENT shopping earlier. Man - I think the Easter Bunny needs more sleep!Aoife before discovering the joy that is JELLY BEANS!And after...

Dying Easter Eggs

Dying Easter Eggs is so much fun! The only thing is that it makes a huge mess and takes a total of 3.2 seconds to finish dying all 18 eggs. There are a few things that really bother me - mixing play-doh colors together would top that list followed by not rinsing your brush off between colors when painting with water colors. When you have 3 kids ages 6 and under, these things happen relatively frequently and I really have to bite my tongue! Dipping Easter eggs randomly into more than one dye cup ranks up there with the play-doh and water colors. Despite my hangups the kids had a great time and were very proud of their very colorful eggs!!Pure joy:The product - used for egg and spoon races and many egg salad sandwiches:
