Class of 2027 Picnic

 So excited for Aoife! We went to the Class of 2027 picnic at Potomac and it was great!! The entire class got to meet each other and do a scavenger hunt around the campus and the parents all got to hang out and socialize as well! Excited for September!

Garden expansion progress

 Brendan has been working hard to add another section to our garden. It was just a bit too crowded with the planters and the two beehives. It's shaping up great and will give the bees some room and me the ability to work in the garden without a bee suit on!!

National School Girls Tournament

A VERY rainy weekend in Raleigh with a Championship win in the Yellow division for Washington DC Team 2!!  They had an awesome time - despite the rain and played really well together! Big saves on defense and high offensive efficiency. 

 

Aidan's Ceramics Project

 Today Aoife and I met Aidan and his ceramics teacher at Glen Echo Pottery for an awesome tour of their facilities. Aidan's Senior Project at Potomac is a Ceramics project that involves learning new techniques, helping out in the school studio and working in a studio in DC. I love that he followed his passion for his senior project instead of just doing an internship - which would have been the easy thing to do. I'm so happy that he is using this opportunity to learn about himself and get better at something that he loves!

Peony Season

 I love peony season!!! Our back yard is so gorgeous and the bees make a ton of honey early in the season. It's so much fun to be able to have gorgeous flowers in the house!!

End of the Road for Yorktown

Despite leading for the majority of the game, Yorktown wasn't able to bring home the win tonight against Madison. Tonight is the end of the road for Yorktown's playoff run. The girls played so well - with so much heart. It has been so awesome to watch them all season - they've become tougher as a team and able to really dig deep. I can't wait to watch them next season!

 A SUPER hard fought playoff game for Yorktown! Emmy made a ton of awesome saves and the offense did an incredible job digging deep and coming away with the win!! Let's keep dancing, ladies!!

Declan's Foot

 Declan fell on the playground last week and has been in a boot since then. Today we were able to get the weight bearing x-ray. Looks like he will be in a boot for a few more weeks. :(

Mother's Day

 So nice to have everyone here for Mother's Day - I'm not sure if Aidan will be home next year so this may be our last one together for a few years. Savoring having all my chicks in the nest!!!! <3

All America Tryout

 Emmy tried out for her third year with All America Lacrosse today. It was crazy hot - as opposed to other years where it has been freezing or pouring rain! Keeping fingers crossed for her!

YHS vs McLean

 Yorktown took McLean down in the first round of the District Playoffs today. Emmy played awesome and was truly a leader on the field! She is going to miss these girls!
