First Week in Marshfield

For the first week of our vacation we stayed in Marshfield with Mimi and Big Dan.  Aidan and Emmy went to half day sports camp in Hingham.  I went to Dallas for a work trip for 3 days and missed all the other fun that they had.  They got to spend a lot of time with their cousins, ate lunch at Bertucci's after camp and went shopping for boogie boards with Mimi!

We're Off!

We started off on our LONG 3 day car trip to Massachusetts!!  The kids were fantastic in the car and the extra money that it cost to get an in-car DVD player has totally been worth it!  We stopped at this rest stop along the way to see the cool rocks - I couldn't tell you what state we were in at the time - maybe PA?  It all blends together!!

Junior Science Camp

This week Emmy and Aidan have been at day camp at Clarksville Academy.  Aidan went to baseball camp and Emmy went to Junior Science Camp.  They both had a great time and Aoife and I enjoyed some nice alone time!!  I forgot to take any pictures of Aidan at baseball camp although I managed to snap these one morning at Emmy's drop off!

Emmy's 5th Birthday Party

We celebrated Emmy's 5th birthday with a Luau themed party - she chose the theme of course!  The kids had a great time playing with the slide pool and trampoline and eating Hawaiian pizza for dinner!  The cake was coconut and had fun luau themed cookies to go with it!  Emmy's friends Aubrey and her brother Cale, Kate and her sister Lauren and Charlotte and her little brother and sister came.  Perfect size for a 5th birthday!!

Emmy's 5th Birthday

Emmy turned 5 today!!!  I cannot believe that she is 5 already and will be heading to Kindergarten in the fall.  Crazy!  She got a scooter (with 2 wheels), dresses, a Barbie and clothes, her own rolling suitcase (Barbie holder), cowgirl boots, books, a backpack that is also a soft dollhouse and her very own blue baby (which is causing MAJOR problems with Aoife!).  She has quite taken to the idea of being a big girl and has suddenly given up sucking her fingers - which I thought would be a nightmare but turned out quite easy!  All the dentist had to say was that he was going to put a device across the top of her mouth if she was still sucking her fingers in 6 months.  She stopped that night.  Never underestimate Emmy's determination!!
Here they are waking up in the morning of Emmy's birthday:

Shaving Cream Fight!

Emmy and Aidan's friends' mom hosted a shaving cream fight in her backyard to celebrate the beginning of summer!  The kids had a FANTASTIC time - even Aoife!  Aidan, of course, took it just a little too far *sigh* - but he had a great time!

Emmy - getting ready!!
Aidan attacking girls - again *sigh*

Another tooth down!

Emmy lost one of her front teeth and she looks so old with that big hole in her mouth!!!!

Aidan's last baseball game

Aidan's last game of the season was last weekend.  After a "learning season" he did quite well in the last game!  He went 3-3 at bats and he even scored 2 runs!  He's in a baseball camp a few days this week and another one in 2 weeks.  He seems to really enjoy it!

Batting

After watching Aidan play so much baseball, the girls decided that they needed bats as well.  Brendan gave them all batting lessons - Aoife is a lefty!

Blueberry Picking

We went blueberry picking last weekend and it was FANTASTIC!  I love stuff like that anyway but it was the perfect day - cool and cloudy - not at all hot, sticky and buggy like a typical Tennessee June!  The blueberry patch was so cute - just an elderly couple's front yard and there was only one other family there.  The berries were delicious and plentiful - picking was so much fun!  The kids had a great time and even found a few wild blackberries!  Aoife enjoyed it so much that she ended up eating directly off of the plants - bypassing hands all together!  We ended up with 6 quarts in all - I froze 2 quarts, made blueberry muffins and jam and we've been enjoying snacking on them as well!

Aoife eating directly off the plant - she said she was a "hungry dinosaur"!
