The Maryland Renaissance Festival
We went to Annapolis for the Maryland Renaissance Festival again this year! It was a great last hurrah for summer before school starts on Tuesday. Last year it rained but this year the weather was perfect - seriously couldn't have had a more perfect day! The kids had a great time playing on Jacob's Ladder, going down the big slide (over and over) (except Aoife - once was one time too many for her!!), climbing up the climbing wall, riding a pony (Declan was the only one small enough!), playing in the playground, watching shows, shopping for swords and even meeting the Queen! There is plenty to keep busy and entertained - even just people watching would keep you busy all day!! It's become an end of summer tradition for us and the kids really look forward to it!

There's something immediately dignified about this venue - it is beautifully designed, tasteful, and understated. Went to these comfy NY venues recently, just the right temperature, good food and great experience.
