We took the Chunnel over this morning and arrived in Paris after lunch. We stopped to drop our luggage off at the hotel and went to the Louvre since it is closed tomorrow! I'm so glad that we made the trip - I could have spent weeks in there. It was amazing - every time you turned a corner there was another room with a gorgeous painted ceiling full of priceless artifacts. We spent a lot of time in the Italian painting section and the Greek and Roman art area. We saw my favorite sculpture of all time - the Winged Victory of Samothrace. She was so much bigger than I thought she would be! We also saw the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa - both also amazing. It was so nice to be in a museum that allows photography!! I have to live vicariously through you for now. So exciting to read that the Nike of Samothroce is as impressive as it seems in pictures. Can you tell I love Greek art? :)
