On Wednesday night we had a strong storm come through - I slept through it! - and this tree lost it's top. It was a pretty big surprise to see it on the ground - it was a huge part of a tree! Today the tree removal guys came to take down the tree - it was sad and crazy to watch them. One guy climbed all the way up and cut off pieces that the other guys lowered down, cut into smaller pieces and carried up to the grinder at the top of the driveway. They were amazing, totally cleaned up the yard so you can barely even tell anything happened. The corner of the yard is much sunnier now and we have a bunch of wood for our firepit - although it needs to be split. I'm hoping we can put in some new bushes in the back now that there will be more light!
