Last week Aidan's school had a fun run to raise money. The big kids ran in the afternoon but the Kindergarten ran by themselves in the morning. I think it would have been more fun to run with the rest of the school but it would have been way more chaotic and some of the kids had trouble concentrating as it was!!
All of the kids lined up by group - littlest in front to oldest in back. Each of the 4 age groups took off with a little distance between them so no one got crushed. They had obviously practiced quite a bit since the kids knew exactly what was going to happen and they even did a start pose! Aidan's group took off 3rd and they had passed all the littler kids in about 100 yards. Poor Aidan doesn't have a competitive bone in his body. He wanted all his friends to run together "as a team". Who knows where that comes from since Brendan and I would both run through a wall to win. Aidan did end up coming in second in his class only because he didn't really try the whole time and had plenty of energy to cruise across the finish line. Here is his class - the boy in the yellow shirt and blue shorts won the entire race if you couldn't tell - he's American too...
Aidan is #36
A medal for everyone...
