This morning we got up and got to Hollywood Studios early for our Character Breakfast reservation at Hollywood & Vine. It took us a few minutes to get everything set with our tickets to get into the parks. Disney runs a military promotion for tickets and I had pre-purchased our tickets here at MWR before we left. They needed to connect the tickets to our Magic Bands - the new wrist band system - so we could use them to get in and out of the parks.
The kids got to visit with Daisy and Donald outside the gate while we were waiting for Brendan to get everything set. After that we walked up to the restaurant to eat and see Jake, OSO and June. Declan was a little scared of the characters but warmed up a bit as the meal went on. As character breakfasts go, it's not the best one (we did several) but it was fun and the kids had a great time! It's nice to have these early reservations because you can get into the park before it opens and it's cool to walk around when it's almost empty!
After breakfast, we went on Star Tours. Brendan took the kids on it once and I took them on it again. Declan was too little to go so we had to trade off! We also saw the Muppets 3D movie which is always fun! We had lunch in the Sci Fi Drive Up restaurant which is so fun. The tables are all cars and it looks like you're outside at a drive in. The food is good too - burgers, shakes etc. The kids all had Oreo shakes and were in heaven!! Declan slept through lunch in the stroller that we rented. Our stroller doesn't recline enough to sleep so we rented a jogging stroller from an outside company and it was worth it's weight in gold. Declan took a nap in it everyday and it made everything so much easier!!!
After lunch, we went on the Great Movie Ride and then Brendan took Aidan, Emmy and Aoife on the Tower of Terror! They were a little scared but they were all so brave to do it! After that, Brendan took Emmy on the Aerosmith roller coaster and then we switched and I took Aidan. It was really fun. By that time it was getting hot and everyone was tired. We watched the Belle show and then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner!
Aoife was sad that it was taking SO LONG!
