Last day of braces!!

Emmy got her braces off today! 18 months and now her teeth are perfect! She was so excited! Thank you to Dr. Markova and the whole staff at VCO!

Rivalry Challenge at the Naval Academy

Emmy and I headed up to the Naval Academy today for the Rivalry Challenge. We left with plenty of time and I was confident since I had been to the academy over the summer and knew exactly where we were going. What we didn't know is that there was a marathon in Annapolis that morning and once we got about a mile from the field house the roads shut down. We ended up parking and having to walk a little more than a mile with all of Emmy's goalie equipment and with Emmy in her cleats! It was also COLD!!  We made it to the field house in time to have her get a short warm up and get into the game. Phew!
After the first game we ended up walking back to the car which was coincidentally right next to the second location and also in the parking lot of the best bagel place ever! We had a great lunch and headed over to the stadium for the second two games. The girls played great and it was a fun way to finish up the season!

2025 Black Skywalker Playday

Today Emmy's new team played together at the Skywalker Play Day for the first time. Emmy had a great day and it was fun to get back out on the field!

Emmy's Field Hockey Game

Emmy had her first field hockey game today! They played against a really good travel team and definitely held their own - even though they are all new to the sport! It's so much fun watching her play and learn something different! I think she likes being out of the goal - although she did migrate back that way during the game! 

Happy Birthday Emmy!

Emmy turned 12 today!! She is finishing up 6th grade in a few days and had a chorus concert on her birthday!  Her friends decorated her locker and we had the traditional chocolate birthday cake! It was a great day!!

Montpelier with Emmy

Today I went with Emmy's school to visit Montpelier near Charlottesville, VA.  It was fun being there with her class and getting to see something that we hadn't been to before! I'm glad she's not super embarrassed of me quite yet!

Lax By The Sea

Another great lax weekend!! Emmy, Aoife and I stayed up in NJ for the weekend and the girls played great! Emmy also jumped in the car after her games on Saturday and drove down to Virginia and won the rec championship!

2025W at Lax Clash

 It was a crazy weekend and I ended up taking Emmy up to her tournament in MD and Aoife went to her games with a friend on her team while Brendan did some coaches' training and the boys hung out with my parents. It was a great day for lacrosse and Emmy's team looked good - especially after having missed some practices and games because of the rain!

Emmy's 5th grade Graduation

 Emmy and the rest of the 5th grade had their promotion ceremony today. It's hard to believe that we will have two kids in middle school next year! The kids had a great time at the ceremony and then at the reception afterwards. Everyone is getting so big and it's happening too fast!!
