Thanksgiving in Plymouth

Happy Thanksgiving!  We drove up to Plymouth to spend Thanksgiving with Mimi and Tom and all of the cousins. We all had a great time and enjoyed a little Thanksgiving site seeing at Plymouth Plantation. We also ate a lot of seafood and spent our last evening in Boston where we had dinner , bowled and enjoyed the Christmas decorations at Quincy Market.

Thanksgiving in Plymouth

We drove up to Massachusetts to see Mimi for Thanksgiving this year.  She really wanted to go and watch the Pilgrim reenactors march to the top of Burial Hill in Plymouth so we all went with her to see it.  It was actually pretty cool and the kids enjoyed themselves - especially getting hot chocolate at Dunkin donuts beforehand!

Thanksgiving 2016

We spent Thanksgiving in NC this year with Justin, Amanda and the kids.  It was nice to get away from the city and  spend a little time in the country!

Thanksgiving 2015

Today is Thanksgiving and it seems so crazy that 2015 is almost over!  I feel like this year has gone by so quickly and I can't believe that we've been here a year and a half already!!  Tom, Tony, Shannon and Mike joined us for Thanksgiving today which was so much nicer than all of the Thanksgivings I have spent with just the kids while Brendan was deployed.  Not that I don't enjoy spending time with the kids - it's just really fun to be able to cook lots of food!!  (Click here for lots of past Thanksgiving pictures!!)
I don't even think that I got any pictures of the food - a shame after all of that work!!  We had turkey, stuffing, cranberry relish, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole (with sweet potatoes from our garden!!), salad with goat cheese and candied almonds and cranberry nut bread with pecan pie and cheesecake for dessert!!  It was a feast and we all probably won't eat for days!!  We also put all of the china, silver and crystal out - I love being able to use it all on special occasions and it reminds me of all of the people who gave it to us for our wedding.  It's something very special to have and be able to use!!!  Emmy and Aoife worked so hard and made beautiful hand turkey place cards for everyone - it was the PERFECT touch to our Thanksgiving table.  My children and husband are what I am most thankful for!!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!  Now - on to Christmas!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had Thanksgiving all together today!!  It was so nice to spend the holiday as a family instead of over Skype!!
 All of us together!!!

 These kids love "kids' wine"!!
 Cheers!!
I cannot wait until Aoife's front teeth come out - they are just hanging there!!

no make up - another bonus of not having guests!!  :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving weekend!  On Thursday we celebrated with our neighbors at lunch, roasted marshmallows, took a rest and then went back over to their house for round two at dinner!  It was great!!

Thanksgiving at Lucas Elementary

Last week I went in with Declan and Aoife to eat Thanksgiving lunch with Aidan and Emmy.  They don't have the same lunch time (of course) so we were there for about an hour and a half.  Declan actually did fine - mostly thanks to Aidan's friend, Lance.  He loves Declan and played with him for about 20 minutes!!
The food was typical school cafeteria food.  It's actually a good idea to go in and eat in the school because it reminds  me how important it is for my kids to bring lunch.  The food that they get there is just gross!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!  This year we are so thankful that Brendan is home to celebrate with us!  We had all the traditional fixin's and it was delicious.  It also took all day to prepare and about 5 minutes for the kids to eat!  It'll be nice to have this Thanksgiving to look back on next year when we're missing Brendan again.
