Walk along the C&O Canal

 This morning I forced everyone out of bed and made them march along the C&O Canal for about 20 minutes.  We really just needed to get out of the house and see something that wasn't on an iPad screen!  We saw some herons, geese, turtles, fish and lots of dragonflies.  The kids weren't impressed with the geese and the geese were NOT happy to have to move off of the path to let us pass!  It's a really nice place to walk but it was pretty hot.  Next time I think we should drive a little farther North and walk where the path is more narrow and shaded!

A Walk in the Marina

 It's been a rough past week and I thought that we all could use some time out of the house.  We went for a walk down by the Potomac, saw some boats, watched an osprey, played on the rocks and relaxed.  It was hot but the kids had a good time - mostly - and the adults got some fresh air which was good for everyone.

 With Brendan home, we don't all have to always go to baseball practice!  Tonight I stayed home with everyone else and Brendan and Aidan went to practice.  It was such a nice evening we had to spend a little time outside after dinner!  The girls loved finding all of the little flowers that have popped up in the grass and Declan loved finding and getting on any bike he could!!

A Winter's Walk

 We took advantage of the unseasonably warm and sunny weather to go for a nice walk today!  Even the dogs came with us!  We tired them out and then Aoife was able to walk them.  She loved it since she had never done it on her own before!  After our walk, Declan didn't want to go inside!  He wanted to stay out and play with the scooters.  Aoife and I stayed out with him - it was so nice to get some sunshine!
