The End of Year 5th Grade Concert

There are so many end of year functions and tonight we had one more - the 5th grade band and chorus concert. It was great to see them perform one more time and although it was HOT inside the cafeteria, we managed.  Aoife and Emmy took Declan and went outside with all of their friends and played on the playground for a while - everyone was happy about that!!!

5th Grade Chorus and Band Concert

Aidan had the 5th grade Advanced Band and 5th Grade Chorus concert last night. They've been working so hard since school began and they did a great job!  Unfortunately during the concert it started snowing and it was a huge mess getting home.  It took us almost an hour and a half to get the two miles home.  Luckily I have a rental this week while my car is getting repaired after getting hit while I was parked in a parking lot.  They gave us a Durango which was AMAZING in the snow - got us home safely with no problems while the rest of Arlington was sliding up and down the hills.  Seriously have to consider getting an SUV when it's time to get a new car. If we had been in the minivan last night, we would have had to walk home in the cold.  That would've been NOT fun at all.

Trying to get out of the parking lot! The best decision was to sit tight for a half an hour while everyone else crashed into each other!

Great Big Sea

Tonight we went to Great Big Sea's concert at Wolf Trap here in DC. They are a celtic-rock band from Newfoundland, Canada. This is the second time we have seen them - they are awesome! Aidan and Emmy LOVE the music. There were actually lots of kids - of all ages - at the concert even though it started at 7:30. Aidan danced and sang to all the songs he knew. Last time we saw them he was a little overwhelmed but this time he really enjoyed it! Emmy was a little tired since it started after she is usually in bed but she hung in there and sat in her seat or in the sling.

Our seats were great - row M - center! Here's Aidan enjoying himself!
