Last Day of School - 2017

Today was the kids' last day of school.  Aidan finished up 6th grade, Emmy finished 4th, Aoife finished 2nd and Declan finished the 4's class.  They have all grown up so much this year and have made such big strides.  We are so proud of them!! Here is the link to the first day of school - so many changes!

Last Day of School - 2016

Today was the LAST day of school!!!  As you can tell, Declan and Aoife were NOT happy about the whole situation.  Emmy evidently really likes that striped dress and wore it on both the first and last days of school this year!  I did that to poor Declan on his last day of school as well.  NEXT year I will have my act more together (probably not).  Aidan finished up 5th grade and will move on to middle school next year and Emmy finished up 3rd grade and Aoife finished up 1st grade.  Both girls will go to Jamestown next year since we have been redistricted but seem OK about it.  They know some girls from lacrosse and from dance as well as everyone on our neighborhood - so there will be many friendly faces on the first day!

Aoife's grade had their end of party - which is always a mini field day for the first grade.  Since they just had actual field day on Monday, this seemed like a bit of overkill but the kids had a great time  and there were tons of water games and pizza so everyone was happy!!  Even Declan got to join right in and pretend like he was in the first grade.  The kids and the teachers were happy to let him participate and he was beyond thrilled!  Aoife's teacher is so wonderful - we will really really really miss her a lot but we're happy that she's moving to Arlington so hopefully we'll still be able to see her - especially after the baby is born!

Aoife's Transportation Parade

On Aoife's last day of school, her class had their transportation parade.  Since the PreK doesn't do a "graduation", they do this instead - to kind of mark the end of school and encourage parents to come in and see the class!  Aoife was a helicopter - Brendan made it from a tiny laundry basket and duct tape while we were right in the  middle of our move.  He's the best dad!!

Here's Declan waiting for the parade to start - making some calls!

Aidan's Fun Day!

Aidan had his fun day at school the day after the girls had theirs.  It was a warmer day so they had outdoor waterslides!!  So much fun!  It was also Aidan's last day and since he was going to miss the last week of school and the awards ceremony, Mrs. Bowers gave him his reading counts award.  After lunch we headed out to DC!

School's Almost Finished!

Since we are going to be in a hotel for the kids' last day of school, I took a picture a little early!  Here it is - along with the first day of school picture from this year!  They are so big!!

Last Day of School - 2013

Today was the last day of school.  The last few months have really gone by quickly and we are halfway to R&R!!  Aidan finished up 2nd grade, Emmy finished Kindergarten, and Aoife finished Preschool.  I can't believe they are all going to be together in the big school next year!
Emmy's class had a picnic to celebrate the last day.  It was really nice but windy! I brought our canopy and it was nice to have some shade - it would have been really hot!  After school we had our annual shaving cream fight with the Brown family.  We did it last year and it was just as fun this year although we were a bit rushed because we had to get everyone dressed and fed and off to Aidan's baseball game!
