On Saturday, we got up and went to the Magic Kingdom. We were supposed to have breakfast at the Grand Floridian but we got stuck in traffic on the way to the Magic Kingdom. We didn't realize that the half marathon would shut the roads down and made traffic horrible! By the time we got to the Magic Kingdom, we were really late so we just ditched our reservations, assuming that we could find breakfast in the park. There are actually not a lot of quick serve restaurants open at breakfast but we lucked into some yummy pastries at Gaston's Tavern. Probably not the world's best day-before-marathon breakfast but it was better than nothing and very tasty!!
It was pretty cool as you can tell from our jackets! I was happy that I packed it - it was kind of a last second addition to my suitcase!!
After breakfast we went to Ariel's grotto, the haunted mansion and the people mover in Tomorrowland. We also did the jungle cruise in Adventureland and we were the only people in the Hall of Presidents!! We had lunch with Tigger at the Crystal Palace, road the train (Brendan got stung by a bee!!!) all the way around the park and went on the new Snow White roller coaster.
We left and headed back to the hotel to put our feet up and watch the Patriots game! After the Pats won (thank goodness!!), we went to dinner at the Grand Floridian and then headed back to get a good night's sleep! I made sure to lay all of my stuff out for the race because I was super nervous about forgetting something at 3:30 in the morning!!
